Miranda Lambert To Be Honored In Home State Of Texas

Miranda Lambert is returning to her home state next year as she’s honored at the Texas Medal of Arts Awards, which seeks to recognize “Texas leaders and luminaries who have achieved excellence through their creative talents, as well as those whose generosity has opened doors to artistic opportunity for Texans of all ages,” according to the Texas Cultural Trust.

Lambert shared the news on her social media channels on Wednesday (September 14), along with the Texas Cultural Trust, a nonprofit organization that spotlights the artistry of Texans. “I got my start in Texas and my honky tonk-loving heart will always carry a piece of it with me wherever I go. Thank you for this honor and for being there since the beginning, Texas,” Lambert wrote in her Instagram caption as she announced that she was named among the 2023 honorees. “Love y’all!”

Other 2023 honorees include actor Luke Wilson, film producer Taylor Sheridan and lifetime achievement/musical theatre honoree Carole Cook, among others. Previous honorees include Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConaughey, Eva Longoria, ZZ Top, Willie Nelson and many more. The Texas Medal of Arts Awards is set for a two-day celebration on February 21 and 22, located in Austin, Texas, the organization announced. “We hope to see you there!”
