Little Big Town honored Miranda Lambert during the 15th Annual ACM Honors, and the hit-making country quartet had the sweetest congratulatory message for her.
Lambert earned the Triple Crown Award, a rare achievement that puts her in a small category with only seven other artists. Lambert won the award after winning ACM Top New Female Vocalist, ACM Female Vocalist of the Year, and ACM Entertainer of the Year throughout her career. The only other artists to earn the Title Crown Award include: Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Mickey Gilley, Merle Haggard, Barbara Mandrell, and Carrie Underwood.
Little Big Town and Brooks & Dunn each performed tributes to Lambert when the Academy of Country Music hosted the show on August 24 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Little Big Town covered Lambert’s “The House That Built Me.”
“It’s so beautiful to see her and to honor her in this way,” Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet said of Lambert in a statement shared by the group’s record label. “She deserves every bit of it, and a powerful woman that we all admire and so thankful that this is happening tonight, ‘cause it’s gonna be emotional,” he said, adding with a laugh, “I’m gonna try to not cry.”
The 15th Annual ACM Honors will make its return to television with its debut on FOX, set to air on Tuesday, September 13 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET.
