Dolly Parton shared some “big news” on Wednesday morning (September 7) as she announced her upcoming album, Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection. Parton’s project will include nearly two dozen tracks, compiling her most iconic songs spanning the decades for the cross-label anthology.
“Every one of these songs has a special memory behind it for me,” Parton said in a note to her fans. “I hope that you make some special memories of your own while listening to them. Enjoy the ‘Diamonds & Rhinestones’ album. — Musically yours, Dolly.”
Some of the biggest highlights on Parton’s greatest hits album include beloved duets with Kenny Rogers, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette, as well as “her delightfully surprising” collaboration with Swedish electro pop dance duo Galantis, featuring Mr. Probz. The collection also includes, of course, “9 To 5,” “Jolene” and other classics. The songs included in the collection span from 1971 to 2020, according to information on Parton’s website.
The country music legend's greatest hits album announcement comes shortly after she confirmed that a deluxe holiday album is on the way. She wrote on her social media channels on August 26: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year! A Holly Dolly Christmas Ultimate Deluxe is coming October 14th, and to celebrate, I’m sharing my previously unreleased track ‘A Smoky Mountain Christmas’ today!”
Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection is set to release on November 18. It’s available for pre-order now. See the track list below:
