Amy Grant shared a heartfelt message on her social media channels about a month after suffering injuries from a bicycle accident in Nashville, Tennessee. Grant was hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following the July 27 incident. She shared in a new statement:

“I want to say thank you to everyone who has written me a note, sent flowers or gifts, or said a prayer on my behalf. I'm one month into a recovery that has held so many unexpected hidden gifts. On the advice of my doctors and other friends who have been through similar experiences of recovery, I am choosing to give myself the gift of a very simple fall season. I look forward to making music with Michael W. and Vince during the Christmas season. With deep appreciation and joy.... xo Amy”

Grant, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the bicycle accident, reportedly sustained a concussion and other injuries when she fell. The beloved singer-songwriter canceled fall tour dates to focus on her recovery, though she plans to continue her Christmas tour with Michael W. Smith and her Christmas at the Ryman shows with husband Vince Gill, who also previously canceled performances in response to the accident. Jennifer Cooke, Grant’s manager, previously confirmed in a statement to Billboard: “Amy is getting stronger every day. …She wants to be able to give 100% when she tours and, unfortunately, we do not think that will be the case by the time rehearsals start for the fall dates.”
