Thomas Rhett knew he wanted to feature Riley Green on one of his latest songs, and the collaboration turned out to be perfect. The two country artists teamed up on “Hall of Me,” a duet that sees Rhett and Green craving a cold beer rather than getting getting work done:

“Half of me wants a cold beer/ Yeah, that's the cold hard truth/ And with the 'frigerator stocked full of 'em/ Tell me, what's a boy to do?/ I ain't even tryna fight it, it's already been decided/ The sky and the mountains are blue/ Half of me wants a cold beer/ Yeah, the other half does too.”

Rhett deemed Green the first and only choice as his duet partner, and recalled that Green performed perfectly in the studio when they recorded the track. He said in a statement, shared by his record label:

“When we went into the studio to record it, I was like, this song is so cool. I love it. Who could we get on here to feature? And Riley Green and I have become really good buddies over the last couple years. And I remember sending him that song, and had forgotten that I played it for him like a year previous and we never talked about it again. And I said, ‘Man, would you feature on this?’ And he was like, ‘Absolutely.’ And I remember Riley pulls up to my producer’s house, and literally three takes and it was done. He’s so good, so talented.”

“Half of Me” appears on Where We Started, the first of two albums Rhett plans to release this year (followed by Country Again: Side B). It debuted in April, and Rhett marked the occasion with an exclusive iHeartRadio Album Release Party in Nashville. Listen to “Half of Me” here:
