Keith Urban kicked off the weekend by releasing a new song that he debuted during a live performance on the opening night of his “The Speed Of Now World Tour.” Urban shared a clip of the live rendition on his social media channels last week, saying at the time that “sooooo many of you have been posting videos & asking for this one to be released.”
“Brown Eyes Baby” finally released on Friday (July 8), following a few weeks of anticipation and live performances, including when Urban appeared on the TODAY Show on June 30. Urban also treated the crowd to performances of some of his earlier hits, including “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and “Wasted Time.”
“So we’ve been working on some new music that’s gonna be coming out very soon,” Urban said before introducing fans to the song, “and we thought we might lay this one on you.”
Urban’s record label notes that “Brown Eyes Baby,” which the country hitmaker recorded in Nashville earlier this year, offers a “beautiful, melodic chorus and a signature Urban guitar hook…which has fit perfectly into a two-hour show of hits, some re-worked and some not performed live in years.”
