Carly Pearce is showing some love to a song that marks a full-circle moment for the award-winning artist. Pearce shared a clip on TikTok from a recent performance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. She wanted to know, “Who remembers this song?”

“Over 6 years ago, Josh Abbott asked me to sing on his song ‘Wasn’t That Drunk,’” Pearce reflected on TikTok. “He used to pay for me and my band to travel & open shows because I couldn’t afford to. We played the Opry on the same night last week & sang together for the first time in YEARS. I’ll never forget what he did for me all of those years ago… and I still love this song.”

Josh Abbott Band recruited Pearce for the song, releasing a music video in 2016. On TikTok, Pearce, now an Opry member, shared a clip from her latest Opry performance with Abbott, and then transitioned to a throwback clip from a performance years ago. Now, her latest single is “What He Didn’t Do,” one of the fan-favorite tracks on her 2021 album, 29: Written In Stone. The breakup ballad is “really a song of hope and trying to get smarter before moving forward,” Pearce said.
