Maren Morris hit the roller rink and showed off some of her best skating skills with her husband, fellow country singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd, in his soon-to-premiere music video. Morris shared a recap of the experience on TikTok, announcing her upcoming cameo in Hurd’s video — and setting it to pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne’s iconic 2002 hit, “Sk8er Boi.”
Hurd shared on Instagram that it’s time to “lace em up cause we’re hitting the rink.” The music video for one of his latest songs, “Pass It On” is set to drop on Wednesday afternoon (June 29). It’s one of the fan-favorite tracks from Hurd’s debut album Pelago, along with “June, July, August,” “What Are You Drinking,” and his smash-hit duet with Morris, “Chasing After You.” The collaboration is one that Hurd credited with “really (setting) up this entire album…It’ll always be the most special song, I think, in our catalog.”
“Pass it On” is one that encourages listeners — whether they’ve got the good fortune of a smile, a “little weight in your wallet, good advice or good vibes — to pay it forward: “Pass it on/ Pass it on/ Pass it on to someone else/ What good is your dollar or your love or your bottle/ If you keep it all to yourself/ There's enough to go around/ So send it on down/ ‘Cause you can't take it with you when you're gone/ So pass it on, pass it on, pass it on” Watch Morris’s sneak peek of Hurd’s music video here:
