Mickey Guyton’s latest performances with Black Pumas will leave you with chills. The country trailblazer and the “psychedelic-soul” duo shared the stage together during a CMT Crossroads special, performing some of one another’s biggest songs, including: “Fire,” “Confines,” “Black Like Me” and “Better Than You Left Me.”
“We are huge Black Pumas fans in my house, so I was so excited to do this CMT Crossroads,” Guyton previously said in a statement, per CMT. “Eric and Adrian are just incredible, and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did.” Likewise, Black Pumas — who also performed with Guyton at the 2022 CMT Music Awards in April — praised Guyton for her “incredible” voice and style.
The Crossroads episode marked the first time Black Pumas would appear on the show, and the second time for Guyton, following her appearance on an episode celebrating LeAnn Rimes’ 25th anniversary as a recording artist. That Crossroads episode also included Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce and Brandy Clark.
