Tim McGraw took to his social media channels on Wednesday morning (May 18) to post the perfect birthday tribute to the King of Country, George Strait. The Texas-born country music icon is celebrating his 70th birthday, and McGraw covered one of his favorite Strait songs in honor of the milestone.
“Happy Birthday King George!! So many great songs to choose from…. This is one of my favorites,” McGraw captioned, tagging Strait as he delivered his toe-tapping rendition of “Unwound.” Strait released the song on his early 1980s album Strait Country:
“Well she packed my bags and opened up the door/ And I got a feelin' she don't want me around no more/ She caught me in a lie when I was messin' around/ And that woman that I had wrapped around my finger/ Just come unwound
“Well, that woman that I had wrapped around my finger/ Just come unwound/ She kicked me out of the house and tonight I'm whiskey bound/ Well I'm gonna be the drunkest fool in town/ ‘Cause that woman that I had wrapped around my finger/ Just come unwound/ And that woman that I had wrapped around my finger/ Just come unwound”
