Lainey Wilson revealed plans to release a new song soon, and she had the best teaser on her social media channels when she made the announcement on Tuesday (May 10). In a new video, the reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Best New Country Artist walks up to a vehicle and opens the driver’s side door. “Y’all hear that!?” the text across the screen reads as Wilson opens the door the first time, kicking off the first few notes of the new release. Wilson closes the door, and confirms, “New song is coming soon…,” opening and closing the door a few more times before getting in. “Y’all ready for a new song? Me too,” Wilson said in her Instagram story. Her teaser might not have revealed much, but Wilson's fans are already eager to hear the whole song. Watch it here:
Wilson appears to be dropping “Heart Like A Truck,” an unreleased song she’s played live, including at the 2022 Country Radio Seminar (CRS). When asked about it at the 57th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards in Las Vegas earlier this year, Wilson shared the story behind the song:
“When we sat down to write the song, we really just kinda started talkin’ about all the things that we have gone through, me and my cowriters. And, we were just talking about how, at the end of the day, it’s about putting on your big girl panties, it’s about pullin’ up your bootstraps, it’s about movin’ forward… The last few years, I think we have all done that. And so, I just kind of felt like this was the song. This is a song that is just one of those powerful anthem songs that people need to hear. I think we all got a heart like a truck.”
