Maren Morris is manifesting a dream role… The “Circles Around This Town” artist wrote in a tweet that she’s “gonna send an audition tape in for Wicked on Broadway. What the hell. Let’s see what happens.” Morris added in a separate tweet: “I’ve hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live, I’ve sung with (Dolly Parton), flown with the (Thunderbirds), hell, I’ve cut bangs… I’m into taking things head on, fail or succeed. Might as well cut the s*** on being coy. Chase your weird dreams down.”

Manifesting a Wicked role seems to be a “popular” move. Ariana Grande tweeted in 2011: “Loved seeing Wicked again... amazing production! Made me realize again how badly I want 2 play Glinda at some point in my life! #DreamRole.” About a decade later, she locked in the role for the film adaptation, starring alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. The highly-anticipated film will be split into two movies, director Jon M. Chu announced, explaining that “we can tell the story of WICKED as it was meant to be told while bringing even more depth and surprise to the journeys of these beloved characters.”

Morris is one of many artists included in the star-studded lineup at the iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One, set for May 7 in Austin, Texas. Fans can tune in and stream the 2022 iHeartCountry Festival on iHeartMedia's Country music radio stations in local markets across the country, as well as on iHeartRadio.com and the iHeartRadio app on May 7th at 8pm ET/5pm PT (7pm CT).
