There are a few ways to Elvie Shane’s heart: Bourbon, a Mustang and Eric Church. Shane recently caught up with iHeartCountry and revealed an unusual saying that his dad has about the “Heart On Fire” singer.
“This is a compliment,” Shane said with a laugh. “You’d have to know my dad… He says Eric’s like a bologna sandwich. When you’re hungry and you can’t find nothing else to eat, you can always eat a bologna sandwich and it’s gonna be good.”
Turns out, Church might be the “comfort” food of country music (at least, according to Shane’s dad). Watch him tell the story here:
Shane scored huge success with his sentimental single “My Boy,” dedicated to his stepson. The track is one of 15 included on Shane’s debut full-length album, Backslider, aiming to tell his own story and others of life in small-town America: “It’s about more than just me. Whether you’re from the United States or the other side of the world, we’ve probably experienced the same things: heartbreak, family trouble, love… the yearning for a better life. These songs are my personal stories written so they rhyme … but I think they are stories that happen to each and every one of us.”
