Would You Try Tim McGraw's Go-To Jalapeño Smoothie?

Tim McGraw is gearing up to hit the road, and he knows exactly how to keep his energy up. The “7500 OBO” artist knows “you gotta keep your energy up” on the road, whether he’s on stage, spending time in the gym or doing interviews. “I cheat every now and then,” he admitted, “but try not to eat bad food.”

That’s why he took to social media to share how he makes his jalapeño smoothie. McGraw shared that he likes “a lot of jalapeño in my smoothie because it kick starts your metabolism and I think it really helps burn fat — maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t, but I like to think it does. Plus, I like spice.”

McGraw’s smoothie also includes avocado — “always good brain fat… good for your head” — ginger, apple, kale, coconut water (or any preferred liquid, including plain water) and lemons. “I always like lemons in everything. Probably people are gonna freak out a little bit…I like to cut them as finely as I can because I like to leave the rind on them, so I get full on lemon zest.”

  • 1+ Jalapeño
  • 1 Avocado
  • Small Ginger Root
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 1 Apple
  • 2 Cups Kale
  • 1 Cup Coconut Water
