LeAnn Rimes is celebrating 25 years as a recording artist, and she shared “one of my favorite moments” of filming her soon-to-premiere CMT special commemorating the milestone in her career. Rimes filmed the special with Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Brandy Clark and Mickey Guyton, who perform some of her biggest hits with her throughout the show. The five artists also sat down for meaningful conversations about what music means to them.
Rimes, for example, said in the clip she shared that music gives her a way to express her emotions and to feel like she’s not alone “because there’s so many people out there that relate to what we’re singing about.”
“Our lives can be so fast paced that it's rare for us to really take a moment and connect so deeply, sharing stories and memories…” Rimes wrote in her caption as she shared her favorite moment on Instagram on Wednesday (April 13). “We could have talked all day. so much so, that the special has been extended to 90 minutes lol…”
Rimes is also getting ready to release her new album god’s work, a project she’s “been teasing you about…for a while.” The upcoming collection includes a collaboration with Guyton and others, and it’s one that “is beyond special to me and we have carefully curated every step of this process, like never before. i can’t wait for this new music to be in your speakers and more importantly, your hearts.”
CMT Crossroads: LeAnn Rimes & Friends is set to premiere during the first CMT Music Awards week on Thursday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET on CMT. Watch one Rimes' favorite moments here:
