2012 CMT Music Awards: See All The Best Red Carpet Looks 10 Years Later

The 2022 CMT Music Awards show is around the corner, set to broadcast live from Nashville on Monday (April 11) from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+. The highly-anticipated show will feature a star-studded list of performers, presenters and nominees, ranging from rising stars to those who have well-established careers in the country music industry after years of recording unforgettable projects.

That’s why the ever-changing industry offers interesting strolls down memory lane.

It’s been a decade since the 2012 CMT Music Awards. That was a big year for Carrie Underwood, who remains the most decorated artist in CMT history with 23 award wins to date. The “Ghost Story” singer was nominated in several categories, and won the Video of the Year award for “Good Girl,” one of the smash hit songs on her 2012 album Blown Away. She and Brad Paisley won Collaborative Video of the Year for teaming up on “Remind Me,” a heartache song that reflects on the heat of a passionate relationship and longs to feel that way again.

Other artists who celebrated major wins that night include Luke Bryan (who won Male Video of the Year for “I Don’t Want This Night To End”) and Miranda Lambert (who won Female Video of the Year for “Over You”). Lady A’s “We Owned The Night” earned the trio the Group Video of the Year award, and “Damn Strait” singer Scotty McCreery won Breakthrough Video of the Year for “The Trouble With Girls.”

Of course, there were some major wins on the red carpet that year, too. Take a look at some of the most memorable looks from the 2012 CMT Music Awards below:
