Luke Bryan has been singing for a long time — and there’s video footage to prove it. During an American Idol audition, the country hitmaker, 45, reflected on a performance at Lee County High School when he was 19 years old.

When Bryan recalled his rendition of “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better,” fellow American Idol judge Lionel Richie replied, “no, you did not.” That’s when Idol judge and pop icon Katy Perry called, “let’s roll the tape!” The throwback video showed Bryan onstage in a white cowboy hat, singing the classic song onstage. He stared the American Idol clip on his social media channels, wondering: “Did someone get this video from my momma?” Watch it here:

If Bryan’s mom, LeClaire Bryan, handed over the footage, it wouldn’t be the first time the family has pulled pranks on one another — including on American Idol. Caroline Bryan crashed the set of the hit singing competition series last month to pull an epic prank on her husband. Caroline teamed up with Perry to pull it off, posing as a disruptive crew member who interrupted a fake contestants audition. Bryan was stunned to find out it was all a joke. Watch the full clip here.
