Like many other country music lovers, Carly Pearce was blown away by Chris Stapleton’s soulful performance at the 64th GRAMMY Awards on Sunday evening (April 3). The 29: Written In Stone hitmaker even tried her hand at scoring a collaboration with Stapleton, posing the question in a tweet: “Just putting this out here… [Chris Stapleton], when you’re looking for your next duet partner, can it please be me?!”
Pearce’s tweet had fans begging for the two award-winning country artists to team up, gushing that “you guys would do something INCREDIBLE,” and replying that they were “manifesting” a collaboration. See Pearce’s tweet here:
Stapleton delivered a powerful performance of his smash-hit song “Cold” during the GRAMMY Awards, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The three-time nominee swept awards all three of his categories: Best Country Solo Performance (“You Should Probably Leave”), Best Country Song (“Cold”), and Best Country Album (Starting Over). Stapleton included a shout-out to his kids on their fourth birthday when he accepted the Best Country Album award, noting that, along with sacrifices those in the music industry make, “hopefully we're all doing it so we make the world a better place, and the people that live in it will love each other and have a good time together and come together.”
