Reba McEntire performed a stunning rendition of “Somehow You Do,” from Four Good Days, at the 94th Oscars on Sunday evening (March 27). She announced on her social media channels earlier this week that she’s “honored” to sing the song, written by Diane Warren, at the awards show. The iconic country artist took the stage at the Dolby Theatre for the passionate performance of the Best Original Song award-nominated song. McEntire began, following an introduction by Mila Kunis, who stars in Four Good Days along with Glenn Close. Kunis described the song as one that “celebrates the strength of the human spirit.” Travis Barker joined McEntire on stage on drums, Rolling Stone noted. In the song, McEntire sings:
“When you think it's the end of the road/ It's just 'cuz you don't know where the road's leading to/ When you think that the mountain's too high/ And the ocean's too wide, you'll never get through/ Some way, somehow, somehow you do”
McEntire’s performance was followed by a moment of silence for the people of Ukraine, and shared ways to donate to help amid ongoing crisis.
The 94th Oscars, returning following broadcast live on ABC beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes hosted the Oscars this year, which also included performances by Beyonce, Billie Eilish and other highly-anticipated artists.
