The country music industry is packed with powerhouse talent from female artists. The genre wouldn’t be the same without trailblazers like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, followed by Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and countless others. Up-and-coming artists are paving even more paths and breaking more barriers. And amid their accomplishments, women in country are still some of the most relatable — and hilarious — people on social media.
When she attended the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, for example, Lainey Wilson (who took home the award for Best New Country Artist presented by Stifel that year) sat behind hip hop powerhouse Megan Thee Stallion, and was a great sport about inadvertently photobombing her: “Thank you [Megan Thee Stallion] for grabbing a quick pic with me,” Wilson wrote in a tweet.
Another award-winning country artist, Carly Pearce, was super relatable when she admitted that she opted to break her “strict” pre-awards show diet so she could enjoy wine, ice cream and “more wine.”
Lauren Alaina could hardly contain her excitement around Yearwood, including as they sang Yearwood’s ‘90s anthem, “Walkaway Joe,” together while celebrating the release of Yearwood’s cookbook.
