Carly Pearce is one of country’s biggest stars, and she’s often one of the most relatable. Like many others, Pearce will “fangirl” over her favorite artists. She recently recalled one funny detail from her first time at the Grand Ole Opry. She and her mom saw Dierks Bentley, and now, Pearce is considering “maybe I’ll tell him (this story) someday.” She said:

“The first time I actually got to go to the Opry, I think I was 15, 16. I just freaked out. My mom got us like second row tickets because she knew that I had to see it up close. And this is gonna be funny, but I wore a little white tank top because Dierks Bentley was there and he was a new artist, and he was singing ‘What Was I Thinkin’,’ which is funny. Maybe I’ll tell him that someday.”

Pearce became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in August of 2021, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Opry member Trisha Yearwood inducted Pearce and country icon Dolly Parton extended her invitation. “What makes this family something special to be a part of is you can have hit records and sell out shows, but all of that can fade and this is something I will have forever,” Pearce said on her induction day.

Bentley is gearing up for the next round of his “Beers On Me” Tour, and one of his special guests is Ashley McBryde, Pearce’s duet partner on “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.” The heartbreak song is one that the two country artists have performed at several awards shows, and it’s one of the biggest tracks included on Pearce’s smash album, 29: Written In Stone.
