Kane Brown has more CMT Music Award nominations than any other artist this year, followed by Kelsea Ballerini, Mickey Guyton, BRELAND and Cody Johnson, among other country hitmakers on the star-studded list.
Other highlights include Carrie Underwood, who has collected more CMT Music Award wins than any other artist (23), who is nominated for Video of the Year for her smash duet with Jason Aldean, “If I Didn’t Love You.” Ten first-time nominees include Johnson, BRELAND, Brittney Spencer, Caitlyn Smith, Elvie Shane, MacKenzie Porter, Priscilla Block and Tenille Arts. CMT is also introducing the new CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year, recognizing performances for CMT Digital. Voting is available at vote.cmt.com, CMT announced Wednesday (March 16).
Ballerini is set to return as a co-host of the 2022 CMT Music Awards, teaming up with Anthony Mackie. The show is set to air on April 11 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+, hosted live from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium and other locations around the city. CMT announced the new info in February after confirming it would push the 2022 awards show to avoid conflict with the rescheduled 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
