Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are two of country music’s biggest artists, and the celebrity power couple knew that continued success meant putting their family first. McGraw recently reflected on his and his wife’s careers, including when they tied the knot 25 years ago. Since then, the husband-and-wife duo have welcomed and raised three daughters together. The “7500 OBO singer” recently explained that he and Hill agreed from Day 1 that their family would be their top priority:

“Our careers were really well established when we got married. Our careers were up and running really hard. So, we made a conscious decision when we got married that no matter what, if we were gonna start a family, that that was gonna be our first priority and everything else was gonna sort of find its place, for better or worse. For our careers better or worse, or whatever, that’s always been our core understanding and our core principle, is putting our family first. And I think that that’s paid off in our kids and their lives and how we’ve given them as much of a normal life as we can in the situation that they’re in.”

McGraw and Hill — who now play a husband and wife onscreen in 1883 — recently became empty nesters as their three girls have grown up and moved out of the house (which Hill recently spoke about during an appearance on The Late Show WIth Stephen Colbert). McGraw previously quipped that in a household full of women, he’s “never right about anything.” He said he and Hill raised three “strong-willed” women, who have even inspired McGraw’s bond with his onscreen daughter in 1883: “We’ve taught our girls from the very beginning to be strong-willed. And sometimes that’s backfired on me, to have four women in my house who are very strong-willed. And so, sometimes dad gets thrown under the bus.”
