Miranda Lambert is ready to take you “on a journey” with her new album, Palomino. The reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year took to her social media channels to announce her latest project — including the whole track list — on Thursday morning (March 10). The same day, she released her first single off of Palomino, “Strange.”
“This record takes you on a journey through songs,” Lambert announced on Thursday. “I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories.”
“Strange” marks Lambert’s latest single since “If I Was A Cowboy,” the Western-inspired song she debuted in October. At that time, she credited Jesse Frazier, whom she met working on her “Tequila Does” remix, with writing the song with her: “You know, it’s funny, he’s a Detroit boy and I’m an East Texan, but somehow we wrote a song about the Wild West together. So it’s pretty cool.”
Lambert is also gearing up to kick off the next era of “The Bandwagon Tour,” a co-headlining venture with Little Big Town, which had its successful first run in 2018. Lambert hailed “The Bandwagon Tour” as “one of the most fun tours I’ve ever done” as she announced “round two” in January. The co-headliners are bringing The Cadillac Three as special guests on the 15-city tour.
Palomino is set to release on April 29. See the track list here:
