Mickey Guyton was elated to announce that she would get to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVI, set for SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California this Sunday (February 13).

The “Remember Her Name” artist took to her social media channels the day after the announcement to share the moment she received the news: “Woke up this morning still in disbelief that I’m singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl!!!” It was a dream come true, Guyton said.

Guyton isn’t the only country artist to get to sing at the big game. In fact, Faith Hill recently appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and recalled her experience singing the National Anthem in 2000. Though Hill said she found it “terrifying” to perform under pressure, she gushed over Guyton: “Amazing artist. I have not met her, but I am such a huge fan and supporter, and she is going to slay it. She’s gonna slay it.”

The Super Bowl has hosted tons of powerhouse singers to perform the National Anthem over the decades, including several major country artists. Guyton will be in good company with:

1974: Charley Pride

1993: Garth Brooks

2000: Faith Hill

2003: The Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks)

2010: Carrie Underwood

2017: Luke Bryan

2021: Eric Church with Jazmine Sullivan
