The CMT Awards officially has a new date! The awards show is now set for Monday, April 11. It will air from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the CBS Television Network live from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium and other locations around the city. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+, according to CMT.
“The biggest and best moments in music are coming to CBS this April,” said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music, Live Events & Alternative Programming, CBS, in a statement on Tuesday (February 1).
The announcement comes shortly after CMT confirmed it would push the 2022 awards show to avoid conflict with the rescheduled 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards. The Recording Academy stated earlier this month that the new date for the GRAMMYs would be Sunday, April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, scheduling the awards show on the original 2022 CMT Music Awards date.
“It’s official: Our three-hour Nashville extravaganza will be LIVE on CBS on April 11 for the first time as part of the Network’s biggest month of music ever,” shared Margaret Comeaux, John Hamlin and Leslie Fram, Executive Producers, CMT MUSIC AWARDS, in a statement. “Expect the most unforgettable CMT MUSIC AWARDS yet, jam-packed with the most star-power, world premiere performances and one-of-a-kind collaborations from in and around Music City.”
