Luke Bryan takes a nostalgic look at the highlights of life in his latest music video. The country giant takes a seat in a room dimly lit by strung-up lights, as he watches a slideshow on a projector screen. The video captures memories of farm life, hanging out around a bonfire and sending lanterns into the sky as Bryan sings:
“Up/ In the sky, there's a guy/ Lookin' down on us/ Lookin' up/ Our whole life, raised up right/ In a town nobody knows/ What a way to grow/ Up”
“I could not be prouder, not only of the message of this song, but also how this video turned out. I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as I have,” Bryan wrote, sharing the video on Facebook on Thursday (January 13). He announced in a recorded message: “What’s up, everybody! It’s Luke, and I lost my voice at the Georgia Bulldog game. But anyway, I’m so excited to let you guys know that my brand new single, the video for ‘Up,’ is premiering today only on Facebook, and you can see it right now before anybody else can see it. Go check it out on Facebook — and pray for my voice,” he said with a laugh.
“Up” Is one of the fan-favorite tracks from Bryan’s deluxe edition of Born Here Live Here Die Here, Bryan’s seventh studio album that released after experiencing delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The album also includes “One Margarita,” “Down To One,” the title track and others. Bryan is also gearing up for his residency at Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, which kicks off on February 11. His residency joins those of powerhouse country artist Carrie Underwood and fellow American Idol judge Katy Perry in the same venue.
