Luke Combs reflected on the moment he received his first guitar.
The country megastar posted two photos of himself at 9 years old on Instagram on Wednesday evening (December 10). He said his mother “came across these gems,” while looking at old photos. Combs, now 35, received the guitar for Christmas in 1999. He wrote in his caption: “My mom was going through some old photos the other day and came across these gems haha. This was Christmas 1999, I was 9 years old and my parents had just given me my first guitar. Crazy how life changes because for many years after these photos were taken I had no interest at all in that guitar.”
Combs is getting ready to introduce the next chapter in his career. Most recently, the singer-songwriter debuted “Giving Her Away,” an emotional ballad that serves as a letter from a groom to his father-in-law. Before that, he delivered “Back in the Saddle” and The Prequel, a 3-track project that includes “My Kinda Saturday Night,” “15 Minutes” and “Days Like These.” Combs will kick off his headlining “My Kinda Saturday Night Tour” in 2026. Special guests Dierks Bentley, The Script, The Teskey Brothers, Thomas Rhett, Ty Myers, Jake Worthington, Thelma & James and The Castellows are set to join the tour on select dates. Combs’ latest studio album is Fathers & Sons, a tribute to his life with his family. He and his wife, Nicole Combs, welcomed firstborn son Tex Lawrence Combs in June 2022. Baby No. 2, son Beau Lee Combs, followed in August 2023. Earlier this year, they announced Nicole is pregnant with Baby No. 3.
