Dolly Parton shared a clip on Instagram of her rendition of “What’s Up?,” an iconic early 90s single by 4 Non Blondes.
Parton, 79, teamed up with the band’s Linda Perry, 60, who wrote the timeless anthem. The collaboration appeared on Parton’s first-ever rock album — and her 49th solo studio record overall — in 2023. The legendary country artist released Rockstar in honor of her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. Her version of “What’s Up?” with Perry is one of several star-studded collaborations that appears on the massive project, along with tracks featuring Sting, Heart’s Ann Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Melissa Etheridge, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more.
“I can’t tell you how proud I am of the Rockstar album, and I can’t tell you how happy I am that it’s finally here to be released," Parton said at the time. "I really had a wonderful time working with all these iconic artists on the record and all these iconic musicians. Not to mention all these iconic songs that I think everybody will love hearing again. I just hope you enjoy my version of them.”
