“I couldn’t be more proud of this album,” Russell Dickerson beamed as Famous Back Home made its debut on Friday (August 22).
The Tennessee-born artist’s fourth studio record features personal, heartfelt glimpses into his life as a husband and father, plus high-energy anthems worthy of cranking up the volume with the windows rolled down. Dickerson features vulnerable tracks like “Bones,” a romantic tribute to his relationship with wife Kailey Dickerson, and the title track, which offers a sweet nod to the life the couple share with their two young sons, Remington Edward, who will turn 5 next month, and Radford Arthur, who will turn 2 in October. Dickerson blends the personal ballads with tributes to the genre (like “Heard It In A Country Song”), and vibrant anthems like “Worth Your Wild” and hit single “Happen To Me,” (featuring a nod to Cyndi Lauper’s iconic 80s single, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”). Dickerson co-produced the record with longtime collaborator Josh Kerr, and teamed up with Casey Brown and Chris LaCorte to bring the songs on the album to life.

“IT’S HERE!!!! Famous Back Home is OFFICIALLY OUT!!!!” Dickerson, who recently co-hosted the 18th ACM Honors with Carly Pearce, exclaimed in a caption on Instagram. “I couldn’t be more proud of this album and I’m SO STOKED for y’all to finally hear it!!
“This album means so much to me,” Dickerson added in a statement on Friday. “I poured my heart into every song, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. In many ways, it’s a thank-you letter to the people who believed in me from the very beginning. I hope it serves as a reminder that no matter how far you go, the truest kind of ‘famous’ is found in those who’ve known you all along.”
Famous Back Home follows Dickerson’s self-titled record in 2022, Southern Symphony (2020) and Yours (2017). Newest songs add to a growing list of career-spanning hits like “Love You Like I Used To,” “God Gave Me A Girl,” “Blue Tacoma,” “Yours,” “Every Little Thing,” “Home Sweet,” “She Likes It” featuring Jake Scott, and more.
