Tim McGraw was “forced to cancel” his performance at an event next month amid his recovery from back surgery, a press release confirmed.

McGraw was slated to perform at the PBR Last Cowboy Standing event at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. The two-day event is scheduled for July 21 and July 22. Organizers shared in a statement on PBR’s website: “Due to a recent back surgery, Tim McGraw, originally scheduled to perform on July 21st, will no longer be able to perform at this event. We wish Tim a full and speedy recovery. In his place, we’re thrilled to welcome Cross Canadian Ragweed, reuniting after 15 years to bring their powerhouse country rock sound to Fort Collins for an unforgettable night following Last Cowboy Standing.”

PBR CEO and Commissioner Sean Gleason said in a statement that Cross Canadian Ragweed “is back together and ready to bring the house down in an unforgettable night of world-class music and the greatest bull riding on earth. you won’t want to miss it. We’re sending our very best to Tim for a quick recovery and hope to see him at a future PBR event.” Gleason added in the press release that he “couldn’t be more pumped” to welcome Cross Canadian Ragweed to the event net month.

McGraw reportedly dropped out of an acting role earlier this year because of his back surgery. He shared in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Music City Rodeo that he was “ready” to take the stage again after undergoing surgeries, including a double knee replacement. He said at that time, “I’m ready to get back and see how it goes, and see how I’m moving around. You know, I won’t be jumping off the stage or doing anything like that, but it’s gonna be a good show.”
