Kacey Musgraves broke a rib after “an extremely hard fall,” she shared on Friday (June 20).
The eight-time Grammy winner wrote a statement over an X-ray image on her Instagram story. She said she’s “in Mexico with a f***ing broken rib. Wednesday night [June 18] it was raining and I was running to grab some towels and had an extremely hard fall on some very slick tile I didn’t see. Thankful I didn’t smack my head but I landed very, very hard on my back left ribcage and I broke rib number 6. This sh*t is no joke. I’m in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult but I’m managing and being well taken care of.”
Musgraves added that “there is no physical way” she can make it back to the U.S. for a performance this Sunday (June 22) at the historic Ryman Auditorim in Nashville, Tennessee. The Deeper Well artist said she’s “extremely bummed to have to reschedule as I have been looking forward to this for months, but there is literally no other option. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience.” The new date is set for Thursday, September 18. Tickets to the June show will still be valid, and ticket holders will have up to 30 days to request a refund if they cannot make the rescheduled date, according to Musgraves’ statement.
