Gabby Barrett stirred anticipation for her soon-to-debut single when she responded to a few questions from Instagram users on Sunday (April 13).
Barrett invited Instagram users to submit questions on her Instagram story as she sat outside watching her children play. One fan asked the country singer-songwriter and mother of three when her next single will release, and although Barrett could not announce a release date, she did tease some major details. She replied:
“Honestly, it was supposed to be out already. But — I don’t even know if I’m supposed to say this. Hopefully I don’t get in trouble for it. But it’s gonna be a collab, so it’s taking a little bit longer because we have to clear some things. But I think it will be worth it. Well worth it. Trust me, we are pushing to get things out as quickly as possible. So, I’m really pumped though. And we’re working on just having music to roll out more frequently this year, as well. Not necessarily (an) album, but just, ‘here’s this song,’ ‘here’s this song,’ ‘here’s this song.’ Just freely releasing music. I like it. I personally like it better that way. I like making albums, too, but I don’t know. There’s something freeing just about releasing songs here and there.”
Barrett said when she responded to questions from Instagram users last month that “(you) can count on your hand” the number of weeks until new music arrived; however, that timeline appears to be delayed as of publication time on Monday (April 14). She also hinted at new music earlier this year when she said “the next song coming out is giving ‘I Hope’ vibes,” nodding to the smash-hit, scathing cheating anthem that appeared on her debut record.
Barrett, 25, launched her career when she competed on American Idol in 2018. She met her husband, Cade Foehner, 28, while the couple competed on the show, and they got married the following year in his home state of Texas. Barrett and Foehner share three children, Baylah May,Baylah May, 4, Augustine Boone, 2, and Ivy Josephine, 1. Barrett offered a heartfelt glimpse of her life as a mother on her latest studio album, Chapter & Verse, which arrived last year.
