Brothers Osborne delivered an infectious anthem to kick off the weekend on Friday (April 4).

The award-winning duo, made up of brothers John and TJ Osborne, self-produced their latest single. “Finish This Drink” is the first new music to arrive from Brothers Osborne since their 4-track EP, Break Mine, released last year. TJ teamed up with songwriter and producer Alysa Vanderheym after the idea came to him while he was eating breakfast at Waffle House.

“When my brother and I were little our dad would always say that he would leave as soon as he finished his drink only to be there for the rest of the night,” TJ said in a statement as he shared the story behind the song. “Fast-forward to a few years ago, I was grabbing a ‘couple drinks’ with Jaren Johnston (of The Cadillac Three) when a couple drinks turned into getting back home at 4 AM, and then I thought, well the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. A few mornings later, I’m having breakfast by myself at Waffle House, and I just started singing the chorus to myself and I had to go into the bathroom to record the idea so I wouldn’t forget it.”

Brothers Osborne made their debut in 2016 with their 11-track album, Pawn Shop, which included “Stay A Little Longer,” “Rum,” “It Ain’t My Fault” and more. Since then, the award-winning duo has become known for “Break Mine,” “All Night,” “Nobody’s Nobody,” “I’m Not For Everyone,” and other career-spanning hits.
