Miranda Lambert shared a behind-the-scenes moment with her horse on the set of her new music video for her vulnerable ballad, “Run.”

Lambert said on Monday (February 24) she was “trying to be serious and film a music video,” but her horse, Cool, was “only concerned about snacking.” The powerhouse singer-songwriter wrote in her caption on TikTok: “It was his first time getting filmed for the big screen, so we’ll cut him some slack 🌵🐴😂”

“I’m Trying To Survive In/ This State Of Defeat/ Is It You Or I That Really Lost Me/ I’m Lookin’ For Someone/ I Wasn’t With You/ We Held On For Dear Life Babe/ But Both Of Us Knew/ I Was Gonna Run/ I Was Gonna Run”

Kate Rentz directed the “Run” music video in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Cool and other horses gallop through the desert as Lambert sings her “most vulnerable song,” surrounded by breathtaking mountains and towering cacti. She looks herself in the eye in a mirror bordered by vibrant flowers as she sings some of the most heartfelt lyrics. Lambert previously shared that she wrote “Run” nearly a decade before she released it on Postcards from Texas in 2024. She said during a show at her Nashville bar that the song is “from 2015. It’s old, and I’ve been kind of saving it. It didn’t really have a place. And I don’t know if I was actually ready, if I’m being honest, to sing it before now.”
