Carly Pearce shared a health update while she’s on her headlining world tour.
Pearce said on Monday morning (February 24) that “the flu hit me right in the face,” though she’s determined to take the stage during “some of the biggest sold out shows of my career.” Pearce’s tour announcement shows her final four shows will take place on Monday in Manchester, UK, on Tuesday (February 25) in Glasgow, UK, on Wednesday (February 26) in Belfast, UK, and on Friday (February 28) in Dublin, Ireland. After that, the hummingbird artist will return to the U.S. for additional shows running through mid May.
“Yall, the last few days I have been battling feeling sick but yesterday the flu hit me right in the face,” Pearce wrote in a caption on Instagram on Monday. “God has a funny sense of humor sometimes… these shows in the UK are some of the biggest sold out shows of my career & of course this would happen, right?!
“BUT!!! With the help of my doctor & team, we WILL finish out this tour strong and I will give you EVERYTHING I have,” she continued. “Manchester, Belfast, Glasgow & Dublin- if the shows look a little different, know that I promise to show up each night giving you my all. I love y’all so much & DONT GET THIS FLU. Last week in the UK let’s do this!!! Prayers appreciated 🥰”
Pearce said on TikTok on Sunday (February 23) that she “really think(s) that I manifested the flu,” because she’s watched so many TikToks about people coming down with the illness recently. She added that “it is as bad as everybody says,” and pledged to “fight” to perform her next four shows abroad. “We’re not canceling shows, so here we go.”
Pearce’s health update arrives just a few days after she announced the release date of her deluxe album, hummingbird: no rain, no flowers. She said on Friday (February 21) that “‘hummingbird’ was my healing journey after ‘29.’ I felt like there were a few more songs to be shared before I close this chapter.” Pearce released the deluxe album’s title track, “no rain,” on Friday. The full 19-track album will arrive on March 14.
