Trisha Yearwood cleared up one of the “rumors” she said husband Garth Brooks recently started.

Yearwood caught up with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday (February 21). Clarkson asked the iconic country star, “I feel like I heard Garth say this, that you wanted to move to Ireland?”

“OK. He’s the one who starts all these rumors,” Yearwood said. “I love Ireland. We love Ireland. …The last time we were there, we were there for about two weeks, almost two weeks, so we had a chance to go all over the areas and see all the counties, and we were like, ‘it would be cool to have a place here.’ And I wanna live in Nashville, Tennessee. I wanna live in my house with my dogs and my life. I love my life. But if I had to have a little cottage in Ireland — we [Yearwood and Clarkson] could time share. We could totally do it.”

The pair also spoke about Yearwood’s friendship with late former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter. Yearwood said she first met Carter at an Atlanta Braves game, through she and Brooks primarily knew the Carters through Habitat for Humanity. She told Clarkson that the Carters “were just so amazing. ...They just led by example.” Yearwood and Brooks performed “Imagine” by John Lennon at Carter’s funeral last month. Yearwood said in a heartfelt tribute that Carter’s “and Mrs. Rosalynn’s legacy of love will live forever. ♥️”

Yearwood’s appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show arrives shortly after she announced a list of spring tour dates with singer-songwriters Erin Enderlin and Sunny Sweeney, “two of my co-writing pals on this new album,” Yearwood said. “I can’t wait for you to hear these amazingly talented women as they take the stage on my spring tour. You’re in for a treat!” See the dates here, and watch Yearwood’s interview with Clarkson below.
