Kelsea Ballerini responded to a TikTok commenter who suggested she could be pregnant.

The comment arrived as Ballerini addressed her ongoing illness and postponed a few of the shows on her first arena tour. The Patterns artist, who celebrated her two-year anniversary with actor Chase Stokes last month, previously noted that “the flu is going around (and) everyone’s getting sick.”

One TikToker wondered if Ballerini is “maybe pregnant?!?” Ballerini responded with a 15-second clip on TikTok. She first hung her head, then looked up at the camera as she replied, “or maybe it’s the flu. Yeah. Cool.” She added in her caption, “anyway feeling better and can’t wait to see you tonight buffalo.”

Ultimately, however, Ballerini had to end the concert early in Buffalo, New York. The show took place on Thursday (February 6). Ballerini said in a heartfelt apology, in part: “Buffalo, I am so, so sorry that I could not finish the show tonight. I'm sicker than I’m trying to be, and I did not want to let anyone down tonight. And I just got through the first few songs and I couldn’t do it. …’m gonna go rest now and get better so I can really show up for the rest of this tour.”

Ballerini rescheduled the Buffalo show for April 11. She also postponed Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Those shows will now take place on April 12 and April 13, respectively.

Earlier in the week, Ballerini addressed her illness with the audience in Detroit, Michigan. She said at that time that she’s “a perfectionist, and I also have this crippling fear of letting people down. So I’m gonna give you absolutely every ounce of everything I have left in the tank tonight.” she thanked the crowd for understanding as she powered through that show.

Ballerini returned to the stage on Monday evening (February 10) at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She performed wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jersey in celebration of the Super Bowl victory on Sunday (February 9), and delivered renditions of her career-spanning hits. Ballerini’s first-ever arena tour arrives after she released her fifth studio record, Patterns. She “accidentally” let it slip that she’s working on a deluxe edition of the record in a recent interview.

“It is a love record. It’s full of love—self-love, love for my family, my friends, my partner, whatever,” Ballerini said of Patterns in an interview with Byrdie. “But it’s the nuance of it, the growth of it, the tension within it… that is so necessary and interesting to me.”
