Reba McEntire hailed Lainey Wilson “a little firecracker,” as she introduced the iconic Bell Bottom Country artist as her Playoff Advisor on The Voice.

“She’s an actress, she’s a singer, she’s a little firecracker on the stage. She has just erupted,” McEntire said of Wilson in a new promo for The Voice on Monday (November 25). Wilson said she’d “dreamed” of appearing on the competition show since watching it with her family. McEntire reminisced on the last time she and Wilson saw one another, when Wilson appeared on the season finale of The Voice earlier this year.

Wilson took the stage to perform “Hang Tight Honey” from her then-unreleased studio record, Whirlwind. that performance took place shortly after she was crowned the Entertainer of the Year at the 59th ACM Awards, hosted by McEntire at the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. After Wilson’s fiery performance on The Voice, McEntire surprised her with an invitation to become a member of the legendary Grand Ole Opry. Wilson was inducted shortly after the surprise moment on the show.

The Voice airs on Mondays and Tuesdays, and streams the following day on Peacock.
