Scotty Emerick reminisced on a moment he shared with Toby Keith more than two decades ago.
Emerick shared a video on Instagram on Monday (November 18), capturing “footage of Toby and I playing a tune we had just written,” Emerick wrote in his caption. The pair teamed up to play “I Can’t Take You Anywhere” in 2001. Emerick released the song on Coast Is Clear, and Keith included “I Can’t Take You Anywhere” on his 13-track album, Pull My Chain. “Rest in peace my big brother,” Emerick wrote in his tribute to the late Oklahoma-born country star.
Keith died earlier this year after a battle with stomach cancer. He was 62. The legendary country artist, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame last month, was known for decades of career-spanning hits, including “I Love This Bar,” “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” “God Love Her,” “A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action,” “How Do You Like Me Now?!,” “As Good As I Once Was,” “My List,” “Courtesy Of Th Red, White And Blue (The Angry American),” and many others. Keith is survived by his wife, Tricia Covel, their three children, Shelley Covel Rowland, Krystal Keith and Stelen Keith Covel, and grandchildren.
