Shania Twain Mourns Loss Of Quincy Jones, Dead At 91: 'My Heart Is Broken'

Shania Twain honored Quincy Jones with a heartfelt tribute on Monday (November 4). The legendary producer, songwriter, composer and Grammy Award winner died in Los Angeles, California. He was 91.

Jones, born in Chicago, Illinois, was known for his iconic music, and working with Frank SinatraAretha FranklinPaul SimonMichael Jackson, and many other artists throughout his decades-long career. Twain shared several photos with Jones on Instagram on Monday as she and others in the music industry mourned his loss.

“Quincy was a musical legend and I’m lucky that he was in my life as a friend,” Twain said. “His record producing was unmatched - Quincy records just sound so unique, his arrangements were unparalleled. We have truly lost one of the greats and my heart is broken for the loss of talent in our craft and also the loss of his warmth and wisdom in my life. Huge love to his family who I want to send my condolences to at this sad time ❤️”

Jones’ family confirmed his loss in a statement. It reads, in part, that “although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him. …Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones' heart will beat for eternity.”
