Zach Bryan’s ex-girlfriend, internet personality Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, addressed the breakup in an emotional video after she said the singer-songwriter “blindsided” her with his statement on Tuesday (October 22).
LaPaglia said Bryan didn’t contact her before he publicly confirmed the split on his Instagram story. He said, in part, that he’s had “an incredibly hard year,” and “thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways.” Bryan asked others to respect LaPaglia’s privacy at this time. LaPaglia, who said she would take a break from social media as she takes time to heal, said she woke up to “a bajillion freaking texts” from people checking in on her.
LaPaglia said she’s “been crying for like five days straight,” after the breakup. “It’s really, really heartbreaking. I don’t wanna talk about details right now. I don’t wanna talk about — I don’t wanna talk about it yet. I will, obviously. But right now, I wanted to heal privately and I didn’t even know that he was going to post that. We broke up yesterday. So, I wasn’t ready to do anything publicly, and now I’m just getting, like, a bajillion freaking texts and sh*t. I wanted to just handle this as a human first, and now it’s not that. So I’m just asking if you guys could please respect — Jesus, I look crazy — my privacy right now, and when I’m ready to talk about everything that happened, I will. but right now I’m just completely blindsided.”
LaPaglia thanked people for their supportive messages and assured them she would be OK. “I just don’t wanna talk about it, so please don’t make videos about this and please don’t make videos about me. Just wait until I come back and talk about it. Can you give me f***ing that?”

“Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” Bryan said in his statement on Tuesday, one day after LaPaglia posted a cryptic photo on Instagram that reportedly stirred rumors of a breakup. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her. I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be. Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”
