Thomas Rhett shared a sweet moment when he saw Gwen Stefani backstage on the first night of the of the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One on Friday (September 20).
Rhett took the stage after Stefani’s energetic performance on the T-Mobile Arena stage in Las Vegas. Afterward, the two artists embraced in a hug, and Rhett told Stefani, “thanks for making me have to follow that. I appreciate that very much.”
Stefani delivered the first-ever live performance of her newly-released single, “Somebody Else’s.” It arrived shortly after Stefani confirmed her fifth studio album, Bouquet, will release on November. The 10-track album will also include “Purple Irises” with her husband, Blake Shelton, who applauded his wife’s newest single in a heartfelt video he posted on Instagram on Friday.
Rhett paid tribute to his wife, Lauren Akins, with career-spanning favorites and some of the newest tracks from his seventh studio album, About A Woman, which made its debut last month. The country star performed “Beautiful As You,” “Die A Happy Man,” and other songs, and brought a honky tonk vibe to the Vegas crowd with a rendition of “Boots.” The Elvis Presley- and Dwight Yoakam-inspired anthem appears on Rhett’s new 14-track record.
