Thomas Rhett revealed new details about his soon-to-debut seventh studio album on Wednesday (June 5). The “Beautiful As You” hitmaker confirmed that his next project is titled About A Woman. It’s set to release on August 23, and one of the tracks will release on Friday (June 7).

Rhett co-wrote all but one of the 14 tracks on the album, produced largely by Dann Huff and Julian Bunetta. The project will arrive as Rhett is “enjoying a life chapter that allows he and wife Lauren [Akins] a little space to tend their romantic flame – the muse for so much of his work,” reads a press release detailing Rhett’s upcoming album on Wednesday.

“From top to bottom, I wanted to exude joy and fun with this project – and really just make people move,” Rhett said as he announced new details about his album. “I went into making this record with a fearless attitude, put my blinders on and my head down to try and make really fun music. …I feel like if you were to ask me what this record is about, the answer would be it’s about one woman, my wife, and it gave me an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ in a lot of different ways.”

Rhett kicked off his new era — his “favorite music yet” — with “Beautiful As You.” The anthem released last month, and it’s “for everybody who feels like they out-kicked their coverage,” Rhett said in a statement at the time. “There was one day a couple years back when I was looking at my wife, and I was like, ‘Why in the world did you choose me?’ I get to be with someone who could easily be on the cover of a magazine, and I get to see her in all her forms – a partner, a mother, a friend, even a philanthropist. I just feel like I’ve got a first row seat at almost-perfection, if you will. And like the song says, ‘Seriously, what is somebody as amazing as you doing with somebody like me?’

“Lauren and I are just in a different phase of life than we have been for a while,” explained the award-winning artist and father of four. “Now it’s a little easier to go on date nights, do stuff with friends, stay up a little bit later – I don’t know, maybe even sleep in a little bit! So much of my music is a reflection of the stage of life we are in - we’re in a very joyful season - and this song is just the tip of the iceberg to the rest of this next album.”

The next track to release from About A Woman is “Gone Country.”
