Jelly Roll revealed that he and his wife, Bunnie Xo, are talking about having a baby.
The Whitsitt Chapel hitmaker, 39, appeared on the latest episode of Bussin’ With The Boys. In the podcast episode that released on Tuesday (June 4), Jelly Roll talked with hosts and NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan about prioritizing his health, including losing more than 60 pounds. When asked about his intentions with his health and why this time feels different, Jelly Roll paused and shared why it’s because of his family.
“I think it was realizing that I just wanna feel good. But it was that — I’ll let y’all know if we can keep this part in — my wife and I are talking about having a baby, and it really made me realize at almost 40, I was like, that means I gotta live to at least 60,” Jelly Roll said in a clip from the podcast that Bunnie shared on TikTok on Tuesday afternoon. “I gotta see this kid into college. I thought that every problem I had in life would be solved if I ever found any kind of success and stability. And then I started getting success and stability, and still, none of those problems are solved. My plan was never to be 60. It was to be like 55. But now, I’m like, well I’d like to see my 60s, you know what I mean? And that really lit it up.”
Bunnie shared her own perspective as she posted the video from her husband’s podcast interview on TikTok. She said that although they planned to keep their IVF journey private, she and Jelly Roll ultimately decided to be as open as they have in other areas of their lives. Bunnie said that she and Jelly Roll hope to “add to our already perfect family” with daughter Bailee Ann and son Noah Buddy. She wrote in her caption, “God willing, Baby DeFord 2026.”
“We had planned on doing this privately, but decided our IVF journey needed to be shared because we’ve always been so open,” Bunnie wrote in text that appears over the 45-second interview clip on TikTok. “And w/ all odds stacked against us, it’s already been hard & we have only just begun. We have been meeting w/ IVF doctors & exploring all our options to add to our family. J and I are SO excited & scared all at the same time. We genuinely never thought we’d want to add to our family but something changed this year & we both just want a piece of us together to add to our already perfect family w/ Bailee & Noah. So, here we go y’all! Send all your love our way.”
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo met in 2015. He proposed and they got married in a spontaneous courthouse wedding in 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jelly Roll, the reigning Best New Artist award in both Pop and Country categories at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, returned to that venue with Bunnie for a vow renewal last year. He previously said of his wife, as he wrote a birthday tribute to her earlier this year: “She is my anchor in every area of my life. She brings a (sense) of peace to every room she walks in. She makes people feel safe. She creates a safe place for people to tell her how they feel. She is special in every way. To know where she came from and what she has made of herself is unbelievable.”
