Carly Peace is calling out a “liar, liar, truck on fire.”

The award-winning singer-songwriter posted a video on her social media pages on Sunday (June 2) to give her followers a little “surprise.” She shared a sneak peek of the soon-to-release anthem from her highly-anticipated hummingbird album, following 2021's 29: Written In Stone. So far, Pearce has released “country music made me do it,” “heels over head,” “we don’t fight anymore” — which features Chris Stapleton and won the 2024 CMT Music Award in the Collaborative Video of the Year category — “my place,” “fault line” and “hummingbird” from the 14-track album.

Pearce announced hummingbird earlier this year, initially stating that the project was due on June 14. She celebrated her 34th birthday last month, however, by bumping up the release date by one week. The album will arrive on Friday (June 7) because “7 is my favorite number and it’s right before CMA Fest,” where Pearce will take the main stage at Nissan Stadium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The star-studded event will air in a televised concert special on June 25, hosted by Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde. Pearce, who is on tour with Tim McGraw, recently shared that she will alter her performances because of a “heart issue” she developed that requires her to keep her heart rate under control.

“The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it,” Pearce said as originally announced hummingbird on March 1. “These 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music.

“When you hear this album — Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve,” she continued. “That we can all find the ‘hummingbird’ in the midst of whatever we’re going through.”
