Carly Pearce stirred anticipation for her long-awaited fourth full-length studio album on a since-deleted slide on her Instagram story on Tuesday evening (January 16). The 2024 Grammy Award-nominated artist fielded a few questions from Instagram users on her story, and many of them wanted to know when Pearce would release her next album.

Though the slide no longer appears on Pearce’s Instagram story as of publication time around midday Wednesday (January 17), one fan saved the video and shared it in a post on X (formerly Twitter), which Pearce reposted. In the 8-second clip, Pearce takes a long pause as she responds: “just know that it’s your favorite word: soon.”

Other questions Pearce responded to on her Instagram story on Tuesday evening include lyrics from an unreleased track on her forthcoming record, something she’s most proud of in her career, her favorite song she’s written and more. As of publication time, however, the only slide on Pearce’s Instagram story was a throwback video to a time she fell on stage during a performance. Pearce wrote in her caption as she shared a video of that moment on July 15: “First fall on stage, better make it count 😂🙈🤦🏼‍♀️”

Pearce has released a few new songs as she gets ready to release her next album, including “Heels Over Head,” “Country Music Made Me Do it” and “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” featuring Chris Stapleton. She’s also shared a sneak peek of unreleased breakup ballad, “My Place.” Pearce's next album will follow 29: Written In Stone, a 15-track project that includes “Diamondback,” “What He Didn’t Do,” “Next Girl,” “Dear Miss Loretta” — a nod to Loretta Lynn, featuring Patty Loveless — “29,” Grammy Award-winning “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Ashley McBryde, and other highlights.

“I think what fans have shown me is they want to see how I see the world,” Pearce previously said of the inspirations for her next album, in a statement shared by her record label. “So, it’s been an interesting process of coming out of a season of my life that was so hard and transitioning into one that, yes, is so much fuller and richer, but also still a hard way to come out of. You don’t just blink your eyes one day and you’re healed, or you don’t just wake up one day and say, everything’s great, and yay! So, I think this one is just a chapter of my life that’s more navigating a new season, navigating to me, the best season of my life, honoring what I have been through, honoring that some of those things will live on with me as I carry through my life. And celebrating that I made it through in such a wonderful way.”
