Miranda Lambert celebrated that her mom has been cancer-free for over a year, and reflected on the “eye-opening” experience in a new interview with Tamron Hall. Lambert appeared on the Tamron Hall Show, where she revealed an in-depth look of her ongoing Las Vegas residency, Velvet Rodeo.

Lambert shared in an interview in June 2022 that her mom, Beverly June, is officially cancer-free, following a battle with breast cancer. Lambert told PEOPLE at that time that her mom had “been through a whole lot, but she's doing really well, and she's ready to roll. …She's unstoppable. She's just been so strong and positive through the whole thing.”

“She’s been a year cancer-free now,” Lambert said on the Tamron Hall Show. The country star continued after the talk-show host noted that it “gives you perspective,” sharing in the new interview: “It really gives you a lot of perspective, and it really reiterated to me just how much something like that, how many people it touches in bad and good ways. People come out of the woodworks to support you, and you don’t understand the toughness of that, all the stress on the entire family, until you’ve gone through it. And so, it was really eye-opening for our whole family. But we’re very, very close, so I don’t — I mean, I couldn’t do any of this without her, and she…she’s my No. 1 fan, for obvious reasons. I think the first run [of shows in her Las Vegas residency], we had eight shows (and) she came to nine. I think my mom was here when no one was here.”

Lambert added that her mom is her unwavering “hype girl,” and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, is the one she can count on to “call me on my sh*t, which I love.” Lambert previously announced nine final shows in her Las Vegas residency, set for March and April 2024.
