Brothers and country music songwriters Dan Isbell and Reid Isbell teamed up to release a new weekly podcast, God’s Country, aiming to “focus on the intersection of country music and outdoor living.” The first episode made its debut on Tuesday (January 16).
The Isbell brothers — known for writing music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and many other country stars — will interview some of the genre’s biggest stars on their weekly podcast, which will be featured as part of iHeartMedia’s “Podcast, meet Broadcast” initiative, airing God’s Country as a broadcast special on select country stations. The show will be broadcast on Sunday evenings. Some of the guests slated to appear on upcoming episodes of the new podcast include Combs, HARDY, Josh Thompson, Ben Hayslip, Jonathan Singleton, Casey Beathard and more.
“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” hosts Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
“God’s Country with brothers Dan and Reid Isbell is a rollicking weekly podcast that sits at the intersection of country music and the great outdoors. Each episode explores how today’s biggest and most talented country stars and songwriters pull inspiration from rugged, first-hand relationships with the natural world. Nashville songwriters by profession who spent their childhoods getting muddy in the wilds of Tennessee, Dan and Reid draw on their own passion for hunting and fishing to lead a thought-provoking and fun exploration of the fundamental role of outdoor living in country music.”
The iHeartPodcasts/MeatEater show is available anywhere you listen to podcasts, including in the iHeartRadio app.Select country stations will broadcast the show between 7-11:30 p.m. local time on Sunday evenings. Find God's Country here.
