Ryan Hurd is “back at it” in the recording studio.
The Michigan-born singer-songwriter shared a reel on Instagram on Monday evening (January 8) in response to a commenter who wrote, “we need new Ryan music in 2024!!!” The brief video teased a snippet of unreleased music and stirred anticipation among fans in the comments.
Hurd’s latest full-length album is Pelago, a 15-track project that made its debut in October 2021. That album included “Pass It On,” “June, July, August,” “What Are You Drinking,” and “Chasing After You,” the smash-hit duet with now-ex-wife Maren Morris about an on-again, off-again couple. Hurd noted in 2021 that he and Morris had become the third married couple this century to release a Top 10 duet.
Hurd, 37, and Morris, 33, parts ways after five years of marriage. Morris filed for divorce on October 2. They reportedly reached a settlement in their divorce, agreeing on all issues and notarizing the divorce on December 28 and January 4. Morris and Hurd will equally split time with son Hayes Andrew Hurd, who turns 4 in March, and Morris will pay Hurd more than $2,000 a month in child support.
Hurd, who recently shared his cover of “Growing Sideways” by Noah Kahan, didn’t share exactly when he might release new music this year as of publication time on tuesday (January 9). Listen to his teaser here:
